This qualification aims to:
• Focus on the study of a Steward at spectator events
• Offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge.
The objectives of this qualification are to give the knowledge and
understanding to:
•Pprepare for spectator events
• Assist with the movement of spectators and deal with crowd issues at
events
• Manage and resolve conflicts
• Deal with incidents at spectator events
• Support the work of the team and organizations
Qualification Purpose
The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge
and understanding required to enter the Spectator Safety sector.
The qualification is mapped to the SkillsActive Spectator Safety NOS suite
2019.
Course Content
The Level 2 Award in Spectator Safety includes five (5) mandatory units:
- Know how to prepare for spectator events
- Know how to assist with the movement of spectators and deal with crowd issues at events
- Know how to help to manage and resolve conflicts
- Know how to deal with incidents at spectator events
- Know how to support the work of your team and organisation
Progression
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:
• NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety
• NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Spectator Safety Supervision
Upon completion of this qualification, learners will meet the requirements of
Section 4.10b of the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds, ‘Green Guide’ in
England and Wales and ‘Red Guide’ in Northern Ireland.
Learners should undertake further training and assessment of competence
to obtain the Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety, if wishing to continue in
employment in the sector.
